Ten Hellfire moments from season replays

Clips pulled from player replays and ranked by the commentary desk's collective gasp. Some are skill, some are audacity, one is pure physics malpractice.

Dispatch Desk Sep 12, 2026 5 min read

Every replay submitted to the highlight reel gets watched by three people on the desk. This month's ten were chosen unanimously, which has happened twice in two years. Watch them, learn the ones that are learnable, and send us yours when you pull something better.

Number 10 through 6: the fundamentals

The bottom five are all clean technique. A loft shot over the Kandahar ridge that lands inside the SAM ring's blind arc. A ripple pair that stops a convoy dead on a bridge. A 9.1-kilometre shot that connects because the pilot held the laser steady through two full countermeasure cycles.

These are all reproducible. Each one shows the patience we keep preaching: wait for the window, commit fully, get low before the reply arrives.

Number 5 through 2: the audacity tier

A pilot named TALON-6 kills a ZSU by ricocheting a Hellfire off a rock face into its blind side. Whether that was geometry or luck, the replay doesn't care. Another flies the entire Red Valley op backwards past the last checkpoint to dodge a patrol, then still hits the time-on-target window.

Our favourite is the Delta Nine run where the pilot kills the last rooftop SAM with the chain gun while inverted, because the pylon was already empty. Inverted. Through a gap in a building. In a helicopter.

“

You can't train luck, but you can put yourself where luck happens more often.

Number 1: physics malpractice

The top clip is nine seconds long. A Kestrel Scout, unarmed, flares over a canyon wall, gets a lock warning, and drops a flare that detonates directly under the pursuing missile's seeker. The seeker locks the flare, the missile follows it into the rock, and the Kestrel lands intact.

Our physics team checked it frame by frame. Legitimate. The flare was inside the seeker's acquisition cone for exactly six frames. Somebody buy that pilot a drink.

Replay codes go through the contact form with the subject 'highlight'. The desk reviews everything in the week it arrives and replies to every submission, win or lose.

The clip of the month earns a custom livery from the studio artists and a permanent slot in the season gallery inside the game.

Open the debrief after any sortie, tap Share, and send the replay code through the command post marked 'highlight'.

Only live sorties count. Private ops and staged lobbies get their own showcase in the community missions post.

Technical skill plus a second of genuine surprise. The desk has seen every standard kill; show us the moment the sim did something nobody predicted.
